I received the following email last week:
B and D
I will be working with the Kindergarten kids on Monday afternoon when they will go on the laptops.. So I will need your help, starting at 12:45 (right after you finish eating lunch).
We are going to help them turn on the computer, log on, find their e-portfolio and type in their name. It is an ambitious project but I am certain we will be up for the challenge.
Thanks guys.
Mr. U
I had to look at it twice as I did not understand who it was addressed to at first. After reading it again, I had seen that my grade 5 teacher had emailed it to two students using their school accounts, who are going to be leading in the area of technology with our younger students and our Innovative Instruction lead for the rest of the year. (Thanks to Tania Sterling for the fantastic idea!)
Recently I wrote about how we were working with students to take on more leadership opportunities in our school, but I was so impressed by our teacher that actually emailed them and really showed them that they are a part of our team. I love when actions align with our words.
We are really looking forward to this opportunity for our students. We will have two older students that will be working in younger grades to provide extra support for our classroom teacher and innovative instruction lead. Teachers are provided extra support and students become leaders in the classroom. What a fantastic way to start this initiative off!
